The Effectiveness of Teaching the Components of Moral Intelligence in the Psychological Strength and PsychologicalSecurity of Students
Mental strength and psychological security are oneof the most important and at the same time the most basicissues of human life, which is an inevitable necessity toprovide and pay attention to. Therefore, the present studywas conducted with the aim of determining the effectivenessof teaching the components of moral intelligence in thepsychological strength and psychological security ofstudents.
The research method was semiexperimental with a pre-test and post-test design with acontrol group. The research population consisted of 10thgrade female students of the Panj district of Tehran in theacademic year of 2022-2023, from which a sample of 30people was selected using available sampling method andthen randomly divided into two groups (experiment andcontrol) were divided and replaced. The data collection toolwas Clough et al.'s psychological strength scale (2002) andMaslow's (1952) psychological security scale. Theparticipants of the experimental group received 8 sessions ofmoral intelligence skills training, but the control group didnot receive training. The collected data were analyzed usingunivariate analysis of covariance and SPSS version 22software.
The results showed that the students of theexperimental group had significantly more mental strengthand psychological security than the students of the controlgroup in the post-test (P<0.01).
By employing mental health experts,psychologists and experienced trainers, moral intelligencetraining should be used to improve the mental strength andpsychological security of students.
