A comparative look at Sama Muti from the point of view of Ibn Taymiyyah with the point of view of Wahhabism and the explanation of its consensus works
AbstractThe issue of life in purgatory and issues related to it are closely related to some Islamic traditions, such as invoking the souls of the righteous and visiting graves. In addition to emphasizing the life of the dead in the Barzakh, the Muslim Qatabah have also accepted Sama Muti, which is the basis for appealing to the souls of the righteous. The common opinion of Ibn Taymiyyah and Wahhabism in opposing appeals and intercession is reminiscent of the consensus of Wahhabism with its predecessors on the basics of the issue of the life of Barzakhi; However, by analyzing the views of Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Qayyim on the one hand and the views of Wahhabism on the other hand, we see a clear difference of opinion regarding the life of the Barzakhi and issues related to it, such as hearing death. Barzakhi and Sama are deaths; Now, Wahhabism believes in the limitation of the life of purgatory, and considers the first principle to be the absence of hearing death, so the question remains, how can Wahhabism, claiming to follow Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Qayyim, go beyond their predecessors in the life of barzakhi and hearing death, and in addition In addition to opposing the Qataba, the Muslims have also opposed their elders in this regard.
