Abstract:

The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of group training based on transactional analysis on creating differences between self and fetus and presenting maternal feelings in pregnant women. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test, post-test, and control group design with a 3-month follow-up period. The statistical population of the study was all women with their first pregnancy who were referred to selected healthcare centers in Tehran in 2023, from which 30 people were selected using purposive sampling. This number was randomly assigned to two groups of group training based on interaction analysis and a control group. Data were collected using the Maternal-Fetal Attachment Questionnaire (MFAS, Cranley, 1981). The group training intervention based on interaction analysis was held in 8 90-minute sessions once a week. The data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance. The findings showed that the difference between the pre-test and post-test stages of creating a difference between self and fetus was significant (P<0.05). Also, the difference between the pre-test and post-test stages of presenting maternal feelings and the pre-test and follow-up of presenting maternal feelings was significant (P<0.05). From the above findings, it can be concluded that group training based on transactional analysis is effective and sustainable in improving the creation of a difference between self and fetus and presenting maternal feelings in pregnant women.
