A Study of the Psychological State of Students in the University of Isfahan with NEO- PI Test.

In order to determine the relationship between academic satisfaction and psychological state of male and female students in the university of Isfahan, 550 Students (281 male and 269 female) from different faculties were randomly selected in the academic year 1383- 84. The age range of students was between 19 to 28 years old.Data were collected using NEO-PI Test (Neuroticism Extraversion Openness Personality Inventory) and Demographic Questionnaire. The results of the multivariate analysis and corre7lation indicted that 9.1 Percent had agreeableness characteristics, 12.5 present had openness characteristics, 15.3 percent had Consciousness characteristics, 17.1 percent had extraversion characteristics, l1.5 percent were in the high level neuroticism. There was no significant correlation between personality characteristics and various demographic characteristics including gender, age, living place and marriage (p =0. 000).
