An Introduction to the Criticism of Architecture Works and Its Methods in Recent Times

The study of the methods of criticism aims to understand criticism and learn appropriate critical reading. But in architectural texts, there is no general consensus on how to categorize these methods. So we must ask what the appropriate criterion for categorizing the works is. Looking scrupulously, we understand that various methods of criticism have been categorized according to the primary tastes some of which are based on mood, some others on subject, while the others are based on the aim of criticism but none can be regarded as the main criteria. What essentially makes the various types of criticism different is not mood, aim or subject of criticism, but the position of critic or the point of departure for criticism. The departure point is the subject or wisdom which is the base of criticism. Therefore, the methods of criticism are derived from positions. Nevertheless in recent times, a unique truth is noticeable in various types of criticism or positions which is the result of their non-artistic nature. Therefore, in current times the different types of criticism are in fact just one criticism with various embodimments. In modern criticism, the mere research on the work underlies the criticism, as the work of criticism is limited to the observation of events related to the work. In such criticism, everything becomes popular on the condition that it can be related to anything except the work itself. Meanwhile the truth of the art work will still remain concealed.
