National medium:a body responsible for Language planning

Reviewing the text of language planning in Iranian and westerner's works, the present article explains the role of bodies responsible for language planning in general and Persian language planning in particular and in fact seeks answers to the following questions: Who are responsible for language planning? What is the role of media? What is the role of Iranian national medium in language planning? How do Iranian people as Persian language planning audience think about these bodies particularly about national medium? Our presupposition is that although Academy of Persian Language & Literature is officially responsible for language planning in Iran, there are other bodies such as Ministries particularly Ministry of education, Ministry of research, science and technology, Persian Language Expansion organization, publishing centers as well as IRIB which have played a key role in this field throughout the contemporary era. Neglecting these bodies means shutting our eyes to an effective source in Persian language planning. In this article the unique role of IRIB and the necessity for recognizing this role will be clarified. Another presupposition in this study is that the unanimous opinion of language planning audience, i.e. people can rank the bodies responsible. Consquently, with a methodical look over language planning and considering its broadness and its relationship with people's emotional domain, cooperation of different institutions involving in language planning and also paying attention to the unique role of national medium seems necessary as is confirmed by the survey.
