Effect of flag leaf and awn removal on vegetative traits, grain yield and yield components of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum)

Abstract:
To find out the effect of flag leaf and awn removal on grain yield and yield component also qualitative traits using randomized complete block design, at Research Farm of College of Agricalture Islamic Azad University of Khorasgan located at Khatoon- Abad. The significant differences exist among tested treatment for leaf area index except flag leaf in 20 days after anthesis, grain yield, yield component except number of grain per spike and number of spikelet per spike, and differences of dry shoot weight in 20 days after anthesis and physiological maturity. In this study the deletion on photosyntheticall sources strongly affected on obsorbing sinks. So that the deletion of flag leaf removal by it self and without shading on spike, decreased grain yield (%18). In addition to all leaves removal in anthesis with shading on spikes made grain yield (%77) and 1000 seed weight %60 decrease.Remobilization of photosyntheticall matter exist in shoots is important factor in filling grain after anthesis than pre anthesis
