Recent Developments in Automated Perimetry

Modern computerized technology enables more complex visual stimuli and test procedures to be in-corporated into conventional perimetry resulting in several developments in automated perimetry that have contributed to more efficient diagnosis and management of eye diseases. This review will cover a number of advances in automated perimetry including frequency doubling technology perimetry, short wavelength automated perimetry, flicker perimetry, high-pass resolution perimetry and rarebit peri-metry. Test algorithms applied to perimetry such as zippy estimation of sequential thresholds, Swedish interactive thresholding algorithm, tendency-oriented perimetry and multi-sampling suprathreshold perimetry are also discussed.
