Education and Training in Farabi's and Dorkim's View

Education and training is one the important issues of human society noted by scholars and thinkers. This study is seeking to review Farabi's and Dorkim's view on education and training. Its main goal is to analyze the educational connotations in these two scholar's thinking and the consequences resulted from it on human societies. The research method employed in this research is documentary; it first studies the views and ideas of these two thinkers on education and training, then scientifically studies and scrutinizes the similarities and differences of these two views using a "comparative" method. What can be stated as the result of this study is as follows: both thinkers are considered as functionalists, regarding man as a social being. Farabi's end in proposing the idea of education and training is obtaining happiness which is not accessible except through "Utopia". Dorkim's end in proposing these issues, however, is to access order, stability and solidarity in society.
