Intelectual Observing in Mulla Sadra's Epistemology

One of Mulla Sadra's views concerning the Intellects is the observing of the intellectual form from the distance. Being influenced by Sohravardi, Mulla sadra states that reasoning results from observing the reasonable facts. The objects of this observation are Active Intelects or Platonic Ideas. This observation sometimes occurs directly and sometimes reflexively. The relation between the soul and the perceived object is an illuminative one and therefore the resultant knowledge is an intuitive knowledge. Weakness of the soul and the intensity of the object of this perception cause the ambiguity and thereby the universality of the object of the knowledge. Therefore we would have in our mind the acquired science not the bestowed science.
