Role Of Universitiy In Knowledge Management And Innovation

The rapid changes of the world, information technologies, modern free economic marketing, and shortage in governments financial recourses, have caused higher education systems to focus on their national and regional requirements. To fulfill such requirements in universities and higher education systems, they have to provide the basic needs of innovation. Especially those innovations, which bring fundamental changes (Breakthrough Innovation). The present study aims to describe the measures, Which are taken by university for knowledge management and the relation between knowledge management and innovation. Therefore, the meaning and significance of knowledge management and then the concepts relating to innovation are discussed. The article then concludes with the description of different kinds of innovation and university role in connection with knowledge management and innovation.
