A Study of the relationship between management styles and Teachers creativity in Sanandaj high schools

This study investigated the relationship between management styles (traditional, moderative and participative) and teachers creativity in public high schools. Survey-correlation method was used to conduct this research. The statistical population included all high school teachers in Sanandaj city. Using Stratified random sampling based on the formula of Cochran, a sample of 275(146 men, 129 women) were selected. Management Semantic differentiation Scale (α=0.85) and creativity questionnaire (α=0.82) were used for data collection. The coefficient correlations between management styles (traditional, meditative, and participative) and teachers creativity demonstrated that the relationship of the three management styles with the teachers creativity was positive and significantly meaningful at p<.001 level, and that the extend of the obtained ‘r’ is (r=0.82,r=0.70,and r=0.37) respectively. The coefficient determination that obtained from the regression between management styles (traditional, moderative, and participative) and creativity was (R2 =0.66, R2 =0.62 and R2 =0.42), respectively, which showed that the participative management style offers more accurate predictive power for teacher creativity relative to other styles(i.e., traditional and participative). Furthermore, the regression between management style and creativity was (R2 = 0.55).
