The Interpretational Principles of the Shi ites and Mu tazilites

Author(s):
Abstract:
Considering the foundational differences of Islamic schools in their beliefs, they have different bases in Quran’s interpretation as well. These bases deeply effect their interpretation such that understanding their interpretive method without paying attention to these bases is almost impossible. In this article I have tried to investigate the differences of Shi’ites and Mu’tazilites interpretive bases which have the most effect on the process of Quran’s interpretation. Unlike Zahabi’s theory which says there is no difference between Shi’ites and Mu’tazilites, my claim is that the popular thought of Shi’ites is based on narrations along with reason and the Mu’tazilites mostly rely on a reason which is dominant on narration. I have mentioned some examples to prove the differences between Shi’ites and Mu’tazilites.
