Immigrants Identity: A Reflection on the Identity of Iranian Second - Generation Immigrants
In this article the effects of global immigration of macro level through economic and political problem of societies and of micro level in pattern of immigrant adaptation and identity’ characteristic are inquired. The studies of identity in the process of immigration clarify that second generation’ identity is more convoluted than first one. In spite of first generation who were born and raised in Iran and claim they are genuine Iranian, second generation either were born in host society or immigrate in the early childhood. Therefore their adaptation and identity’ patterns will be different. In this study, the identity of second generation immigrants examined through qualitative method and interview with Iranian expertise’s abroad. The findings show that, they committed to identical dimension of host society in childhood but they show more dependence to Iran in youth, they get reflexive more and mix cultural dimension of host society with Iranian culture.
