Study of the Situation of IAU Faculty member's Development, Case study, in Region 8

Faculty Development as one of the most important programsin universities are considered by many of researchers of higer education filed in last decades. The purpose of this research is investigating of the situation of IAU faculty member's Development programs. Statistic community is consist of all full time IAU faculty members of region 8, 211 of them were selected by Cochran formula in stratified sampling. The researcher-made questionnaire is used in this research 5 Dimensions and 41 components from the research literature were used in making the questionnaire for determining current situation of IAU faculty member's Development. Data analysis was in descriptive and inferential levels. The results show that from 5 Development Dimensions of faculty, only the average of instructional Development scores was upper than the mean and the other Dimensions (research, Personal, organizational and ethical) are lower than the mean, it shows the unpleasant condition of faculty members Development program. The results also show that there are not so differences between answerable opinions (in aspects of age, gender, scientific grade and work experience), but their opinions are different about educational course. The higher score of Development faculty is related to basic science. Finally some proposals were presented along with more effectiveness of faculty member's Development programs.
