The Theory of Monotheism in Achieving Happiness

The present paper tries to explain what, according to Islam, the theory of happiness is if we take into account the two-dimensional structure of happiness (i.e. joy and satisfaction) and what things can demonstrate the realization of happiness. The method used in this research is a library survey and relevant Islamic sources such as the Holy Quran and traditions the Infallibles have been identified and studied on the basis of content analysis. The findings show that the theory of happiness in Islam is based on"monotheism", that is, on "monotheistic study of reality" and "conformity with monotheistic facts" related to happiness. According to this theory, happiness is based on the realities ordained by The Most High God and there is a certain way prescribed by The Most High God to achieve it. Knowing these realities and accepting them contribute to people’s "satisfaction" with what The Most High God has ordained because of their belief in the "good nature of such realities", and they bring "joy" to them because the joys which people need are satisfied through divine degree.
