Police-school Interaction and its Impact on Crime Rate Reduction: An Awareness Approach

With police-school interacon, police can receive different view points of students,teachers, and parents, have a beer understanding of police and security problems, and be more successful in maintaining law and order. The present survey aims at recognizing the impact of police educaon and interacon with students on crime rate reducon,however the other minor goal was to find the most suitable techniques of policeschool interacon. In this study, police public educaon for students, parents, teachers,and school personnel were considered as the independent variables and crime rate reducon as dependant variable. Data were gathered through a quesonnaire (α=0.91) from school teachers and principals of northeastern of Tehran boys’ high school (n=236)in 1386(2007). The results indicated that there is significant relaonship between police-school (teachers & personnel) interacon and police-parents interacon, and police-student interacon with crime rate reducon. Therefore, there is a significant relaonship between police-school interacons with crime reducon. Police-school interacon with a coefficient of 2.11, police-parents interacon with 2.01, and policestudent interacon with 1.88 rank among the interacons, respecvely.
