The effect of conceptual skills training of shift supervisors on the degree of job satisfaction and performance of their subordinates

The present study aims to investigate the effect of conceptual skills’ training of shift supervisors on the degree of job satisfaction and performance of their subordinates in an industrial company in Isfahan. 451 supervisors and 30 individuals were chosen using simple random sampling out of 30 subordinates as the statistical population of the study. This sample was randomly put in the experimental and control groups. The supervisors of the experimental group undertook 15 sessions of conceptual skills’ training while no treatment was given to the control group. Having finished the training, both groups were analyzed in the posttest stage. The job satisfaction subscale in the Lee job cognition questionnaire (2000) and the organization performance analysis questionnaire were used for analyzing the study variables in the pretest and posttest stages. The obtained data was subsequently analyzed using t-test and ANCOVA. The findings of the study indicated that the conceptual skills’ training seems to have only increased the subordinates’ job satisfaction (P=0.0001) and not their job performance. The results can be effective in improving job satisfaction and organizational training in organizations.
