The relationship between academic motivation and psychological well-being among high school students

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between academic motivation and psychological well-being. Participants consisted of 452 high school students (boy's 199and girls 253). Those are selected by multistage cluster sampling in Shiraz city. Two scales were used: Ryff psychological well-being scale (RPWS) that has six subscales such as positive relations with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, purpose in life, and self-acceptance. In addition, students completed Situational motivational scale(SIMS) it scales has four sub-scales, as: motivation, external regulation, Identified motivation and Intrinsic motivation. The reliability of the measures verified by Chronbach alpha method and validity of those were confirmed through internal consistency.
