Relationship between parent's cultural capital and the use of library resources and services among the members of public libraries of Ahvaz city

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between parent's cultural capital and the use of library resources and services among members of public libraries in Ahvaz city. This study is of a descriptive type and the method used is survey. To collect the data a questionnaire was used. Results showed a significant relationship between three dimensions of cultural capital, namely, embedded, objectified and institutionalized dimensions with the use of library resources and services. In other words, increase in parents’ level of cultural capital (in its three dimensions) is associated with an increase in the use of library resources and services.Value: Today, cultural product consumption particularly books is an index indicating the level of cultural development in different countries. Hence, investigation of factors that affect this phenomenon is of importance.
