Analysis of Uprising Symbols in Khalil Havi's Poetry

Khalil Havi the Arab existentialist poet of the contemporary era in most of his poems uses, in an extensive manner, uprising symbols, those sings representing uprising, a new life and rebirth after death; for this reason, many know him as the first uprising poem composer. He is aware and familiar with the tragedy of Arabs of his time and their deteriorative culture. His most important mental distress is about the renewal of the orient culture and civilization in general and especially Arabic culture. He tries to represent his deep poetic and developed experience under the veil of symbol and legend, especially by using uprising symbols and he calls for renewal of the original culture and civilization of the Orient residents and abandoning the materialistic culture and thought of the West. Accomplishment of uprising aspiration on the basis of the poems of this poet sometimes is early and attainable whereas other times is difficult and even in some cases it is impossible and requires a miracle. This article aims to explore different kinds of uprising symbols used in Khalil Havi's poetry, religious, natural, and mythological symbols. Using semantic-symbol method based on symbol analysis. The final result of the present research is to reveal the aim of the considered symbolist approach in Havi's poetry is a cultural-civilized movement call and a valued attempt of a poet along with a true picture of a disturbing situation which governs on east especially in Arabic countries.
