A Scrutiny of the Security Council's Resolution 1373: Modification of Legal Commitments and Necessities of Combating Terrorism

Abstract:
The Security Council, one of the most competent UN organizations in law-making, is authorized by the UN Charter. These authorities mostly relate to the measures which endanger the international peace and security. In this regard, the law-making jurisdictions are shown through issuing resolutions and diffusions. Therefore, the existence of measures, such as terrorism, which raze the international peace and security, is an important factor in issuance of such resolutions. Although, in some cases, the Security Council shrugged off the issues and agreed to only a resolution. Anyhow, the Resolution 1373 has been a milestone in the legal commitments to combat terrorism. While the scrutiny of the Resolution, reveals the change and modifications made to the nature of legal commitments and necessities of encountering terrorism and also the Security Council's approach to these matters, mostly due to the 9/11
