Assessing the Relation Between Organizational Climate Components with Organizational Commitment Components Among Nurses in Selected Hospitals of TUMS
Organizational climate is one of the effective factors in organizational commitment. Organizational climate affects organizational staff behaviors. The aim of current study was to assess the relation between organizational climate components with organizational commitment components among nurses in selected hospitals of TUMS in 2011.
This study was cross - sectional survey. 363 nurses with BS and MS degree from selected hospitals of TUMS were selected using random sampling. Data were collected using a valid and reliable three part questionnaire as following; demographic variables، organizational commitment and organizational climate questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and spearman correlation test were used to analyze data. Significant level was set as 0. 05.
Organizational commitment was in moderate level (65. 87± 15. 32). All dimensions of organizational commitment (affective، continuous and normative) were moderate too. Out of eight organizational climates، Median of group spirit in upper level، and the others were in moderate level. Study findings revealed that organizational commitment had significant linear direct linked with group spirit (r=0. 29،P< 0. 001)، engagement (r=0. 294،P< 0. 001)، intimacy (r=0. 124، P = 0. 018)، consideration (r=0. 362، P < 0. 001)، spacing (r=0. 175، P= 0. 001)، thrust (r=0. 431،P< 0. 001)، production emphasis (r=0. 384،P< 0. 001) and significant linear indirect with hindrance dimension (r= - 0. 257،P< 0. 001).
Regarding to relation between all components of organizational climates with organizational commitment، big efforts to promote organizational climates can be as precious strategy in organizational commitment enhancement.
