Amputation Stamp Problems of Lower Limb in War Casualties

20 years have passed since the beginning of Iran -Iraq war and little has been written on war amputies and their stump problems. With the continued use of prosthesis by the patients، its problems increases and meticulous attension by expert team of rehabilitation and orthopaedic surgeon، is needed to prevent complications. In a retrospective study، 150 cases referred to a prosthesis center in Isfahan-Iran in a 10-year period. They were evaluated by clinical examination and the data were recorded in questionnaires and then were analyzsed. Skin problems are the most and vascular problems the least prevalent in stump problems. Except for skin problems، the rest of issues were seen more frequently in below knee amputations. With the high rate of skin problems in stumps، hygenic care of stump skin، and proper duration of prosthetic use can decrease stump problems.
