Evaluation of clarity criteria of purposes and audiences, performance, updating, reliability and navigation in the websites of Iran public publishers by using WQET method

Abstract:
This research aims to determine the quality of Iranian public publishers’ websites based on WQET criteria of: clarity of purposes and audiences, performance, updating, reliability, and navigation. The method of research is evaluative survey and the required data is collected through standard chek lists of WQET. The study population are the websites of 38 top publishers in 1390 that have been investigated during Azar, Dey and Bahman in 1391. The results showed that criteria of performance, directing internal links to logical consequences(navigation) were in “excellent” level, “clarity of purposes and audiences” in “good” level and “validity” in a “normal” level.The results of ranking of websites showed that the websites of Pouran pajuhan with the score of 82 was the first and the other websites of Teymourzade, Qoqnoos, Afraaz, Hermes, Soroosh, Majd and Jameenegar located in second to eight positions and had excellent quality.At the end there are some proposes based on research finding which are provided to improve quality of websites of public publishers.
