Black Similes Analysis of Composition by Mehdi Akhavan Sales

Coup of 28 August 1332 in Iran is one of the most influential events. The consequences of it for committed intellectuals, frustration, despair and take refuge in opium and wine and cases of this kind. Thereby creating a kind of poetry called Black poetry that in same poetic movements such realism, black romanticism and social symbolism can be seen. Mehdi Akhavan Sales is the most visible face of the recent movement. The present study explores and analyzes the black similes of Akhavan as one of the most important elements of his imagery. The result shows that poet wants to indicate by the creation of these new similes, so hidden, bitter picture of the social conditions of Iranian society at that day and by using of this literary device, also to object to the situation at that time, would pass magnification censorship of Pahlavi government.
