The Effect of Distributed Leadership Style on Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction of Karaj Primary School Teachers

Abstract:
While analyzing theconcept ofdistributedleadership, this study purposes toexaminethe effect of distributed leadership styleonjob satisfactionandorganizational commitment withthe mediating roleofteachers’ academic optimismvariable. The method of this study is correlational-descriptive. Statistical population of this study includes all the teachers at primary schools of Karaj. By using multi-stage sampling of Jercey and Morgan, 160 teachers were selected as sample and were evaluated. Forgathering dataa standardizedquestionnaire was used, which consisted offourparts including measurement of leadershipbehavior, organizational commitment, organization-alsatisfaction, andacademic-optimism. 66 questions consisted of 36questions formeasuring theacademicoptimism, 20 questions to measureleadership behavior, 6 questions to measure organizational commitment 6 questions to measure job satisfaction. The Results showed that the distributed leadership is the predictive of optimism, satisfaction and organizational commitment. But itsinfluence degreeonorganizational commitment was morethanothervariables. Also, theimpact ofdistributedlea-dershiponjob satisfactionwasindirect. Demographi-cvariables, explained the organizational commitment ratherthanjob satisfaction and thefindingsshowed thatnone of thedemographic variablespre dictedacademi coptimism. Finally, academic optimismsignificantly predicted organizationalcommitmentandjob satisfaction.
