Survey technical capability of the NFC and RFID technologies in improving services of academic libraries and compare these based on Beredy pattern
The Information and Communication Technology entered to libraries in the 1960s. The type of technologies that used in the libraries are "NFC"and "RFID". The aim of study is determine the technical capability of the NFC and RFID technologies in improving services of academic libraries and compare these based on Beredy pattern.
The research has been done with comparative-descriptive approach and by Beredy pattern.
Findings: The main findings of research includes the similarities and differences of "NFC" and "RFID" according to Beredy Comparative Pattern and basis on criteria that includes application, components of Library system, components of hardware, software, firmware, standard situation, frequency range, operating frequency, distance of Reading, speed, communication mode, mode of operation, environment of performance, and security that is presented in the form of table.
Originality: This research leads to better understanding and implementing the "NFC" in academic libraries of Iran, in the near future.
