Relationship between Tourism Development and Environmental Quality; the Study of MENA Region Countries
Background And Objective
Tourism development from two channels effects on air pollution (more or low): The first channel directly through the effects of scale, combine and technique the tourism (direct effect channel) and second channel through its effect on economic growth (indirect effects channel) is created. In this context, the main objective of this paper is to examine the impact of tourism development on air pollution in MENA region countries (include: Iran) in long-term and in the form of environmental Kuznets curve during the period 1995-2014.
The results by using Continuously-updated and Fully-Modified (Cup-FM) method showed a positive and significant impact of tourism development on air pollution in the long-term.
Other results of this study, indicate the environmental Kuznets curve to approve for countries studied; So that they are at the ascending section of this curve now.
According to the other results, energy consumption and trade in MENA region countries will be sought air pollution in the long-term.
