Promotion of the Dedicated and Devotee Staff's Relational Competence in Light of Emotional Intelligence

Abstract:
Introduction
The dedicated and devotee staff in organizations are among the vulnerable groups who are physically and mentally in need of special care and attention. At the same time, ability to establish effective relationship with others is considered one of the most important protective factors against mental disorders, and it is linked to wellbeing, happiness, physical and mental health, as well as low mortality; ability to establish effective relationship with others itself is affected by different factors. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of emotional intelligence on relational competence of the dedicated and devotee staff.
Methods
This is an applied research work, and given the nature of the topic under study and the objectives, it can be categorized as a correlational descriptive study. The statistical population includes all the dedicated and devotee staff of North Khorasan Governorate. Due to the limited number of the population, all of them were selected as the sample. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire, and the collected data were analyzed using regression analysis, the Pearson correlation, mean, and the Friedman test.
Results
The results revealed that there is a positive significant correlation between all the factors of emotional intelligence and relational competence, and emotional intelligence has a positive impact on the staff’s relational competence. Also, it was revealed that the state of emotional intelligence and relational competence was average among the staff.
Discussion
Emotional intelligence plays an important role in promoting relational competence. Given the results of the present study, it is suggested that managers and employees recognize the importance of emotional intelligence and its role in relational competence and take the necessary steps to improve it.
