Study of Physical Growth Patterns of Urmia City and Providing an Optimal Pattern for Increasing Compression

The purpose of this study is evaluation of the situation of urban density and compression in Urmia and The process of its growth and development. By using the results can achieve a suitable pattern and Strategy for the future development of the city. In this regard, has used Heldern, Shannon entropy and accumulation index for investigate the process of the development of the city. The results showed that the city of Urmia has expanded sprawl. Therefore the mixed land use is offer as one of the ways urban compression. For evaluation variation and mixed land use has used determine the diversity of models Such as balance, heterogeneity, Hirschman and Atkinson. According to these indicators, zone 4 has the best and zone 3 the worst level.
