Effectiveness of Stress Management Through Behavioral-Cognitive Approach in Anxiety Reduction and General Health Improvement among Nurses Working on Intensive Care, Internal and the Emergency Wards in Tabriz Shahid Madani Hospital
The management of stress via cognitive behavioral approach as well as its effectiveness in reducing the symptoms of stress, and general health improvement in nurses is an important issue to be examined in this research. Therefore 30 nurses were selected from internal, emergency and special wards of Tabriz Shahid Madani Hospital, and were assigned in both experimental and control groups. The experimental group received the intervention six sessions (60 minutes per session) but control group did not receive any intervention. After the sessions, both groups were assessed. Results showed that the compared with the control group, general health of the experimental group was significantly improved. Also, findings revealed that the job stress in the experimental group and the control group were 70.14 and 94.05respectively and it revealed that burnout score is significantly less in the experimental group than the control group.
