Viability approach

The viable city is one of the new concepts of the contemporary urban regimes, which has been developed through the evolution of contemporary society's ideas and aspirations. Today, it is important to have the viable characteristics of cities in reaching sustainable development in the community. The objective of this study is to investigate the status of vitality in the Zanjan neighborhoods. The purpose of this study was to measure the amount of data obtained from completed viables' questionnaires using Spss, Excel, Arc Gis software. Results show that there is no significant difference between the main dimensions of viable's habitat. In terms of spatial distribution, the dimensions of the triplet are not uniformly distributed and the spatial distribution is clustered. Also, the ranking of neighborhoods based on the total index of viability indicated that based on the findings of Table 20-20, Shoghi neighborhoods, Darwazi Rasht, David Gholi, Furodgah, Abbasgoli and Hagh Verdi, the highest score was (35/19 Percent) have acquired physical vitality. Bazar, Hosseiniyeh, Saqalar and Mazar Bala with (38.67%) are in the lowest level of physical viability of Zanjan city, so that based on the world-wide literature on the survivability of the Economics Center of the Institute of Research, these neighborhoods are in the category of physical viability ineligible.
