The comparison of the Effect of the Presence of Active and Inactive Spectators on the Performance of Athletes during the Rupee Skill in Football

The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of the active and inactive spectators on the performance of athletes in the performance of the rupee skill in football as a fine motor skill. The athletes' sample included twenty male athletes who had more than five years of experience in football and they were the members of the football team of the Farhangian University of Qazvin. Also, the samples of the spectators were 60 male students of the Qazvin Farhangian University whose were randomly selected. Participants performed their skill at four separate sessions: first session alone, the second session, in the presence of coactors, the third session, in the presence of the coactors and the passive spectators, and the fourth session, in the presence of the coactors and active spectators. ANOVA with repeated measurement test was used for analyze the data. Moreover, Tukey post hoc test was used to determine the difference between the pair of averages. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the mean of the performance of the participants in the four situations mentioned (P < 0.01). Also, the results showed that there is a significant difference between the means of subjects' skill in comparison with all pairs of averages (P < 0.05). In general, the results showed that the presence of spectators have had a negative effect on the performance of athletes.
