The Effect of Training on Nurses' Moral Sensitivity

Nursing is an ethical activity and every decision a nurse adopts normally has a moral dimension. Moral Sensitivity as a first step in the ethical decision-making process, before a person can make a moral judgment it is necessary. Reviewing the literature suggests that various factors affect the level of ethical sensitivity, one of effective factors is education. Accordingly, in this study, the effect of training on nurses' ethical sensitivity has been studied.

This is a review article. For the formulation it, library studies and online search in databases (Google Scholar, Iran Medex, PubMed and SID) between 2003 and 2016 was done.

The existence of ethical sensitivity increases the quality of care and development of nursing professional practice. Moral sensitivity increases when it comes to learning and developing knowledge. The results of most studies show that ethics education and its pursuit have a significant impact on the ethical sensitivity of nurses. Also, the lack of ethics education can hinder the development of ethics in the nursing profession and the sensitivity of professional ethics.

Discussion and Conclusion:

Learning and attending ethical courses is effective in increasing the ethical sensitivity of nurses. With this in mind, it is necessary to increase the level of ethical sensitivity of nurses by planning appropriately and providing appropriate and continuous training programs.
