A brief review on major orchards scale insects Diaspididae in Kermanshah Myan-Drbnd

Most scale insects (Hemiptera: Sternorrhyncha: Coccoidae) are serious pests in the world. Among the scale insects, the Diaspididae family, known as armored scales, with 418 genera, including more than a third scale insects species and the most important family in terms of economic importance. The main feature of this family, shield-shaped cover that which does not stick to the body and one or two nymphal waxy shell, usually made visible. The shield is pore and ducts located in the pygidium region, which is hard over time. Unlike most Coccoidea families, that of phloem feeding virgin, virgin and the family of the parenchyma power plant in the event of severe damage, loss of host plants is dumped. Armored scales one of the most important garden pests in Kermanshah Myan-Drbnd numerous and there is a lot of damage annually. In this research armored scales samples on various host trees were collected during irregular surveys in different locations in Myan-Darband Kermanshah region between 2015 and 2016. The sampling was done in such a way that by observing infested trees, they are separated with the host and transferred to the laboratory for more detailed and accurate studies. The specimens were carefully removed from the infested host surfaces and placed in 75% alcohol or put in plastic bags and transported to the Razi University, where all specimens were mounted on microscope slides using the methodology of McKenzie (1956). A total of 5 armored scales species are recorded in the Myan-Darband. The species are: Lepidosphes ulmi L., Parlatoria oleae (Colvee), P. crypta (McKenzie), Diaspidiotus prunorum (Laing), Melanaspis inopinata (Leonardi). Between these, P. oleae species is dominant and cause major damage to fruit gardens in this area.
