Investigation of the relationship between Police organizational commitment and social happiness
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between Police organizational commitment and social happiness. The research population includes all police force members across Dehloran town, and the sample size is determined to include 140 individuals. The research method utilized here were survey and the cluster sampling technique were adopted. For collecting information, Organizational commitment scale of Meyer and Allen, and Oxford social happiness scale were used. For investigating the research hypotheses and for testing the model, the T and F, regression, correlation and structural equations (LISREL) statistical tests were used. Research findings indicate that organizational commitment (with normative, continuous and emotional components) has a direct relationship with social happiness. The amount obtained for this relationship were approximately 87 percent. The average of organizational commitment and social happiness were 3.68 and 3.66, respectively, which are slightly higher than the average level. In this study, the effect of demographic variables such as age, marital status, educational level, professional background and income on happiness were investigated. Except for income which is relatively related to social happiness, other variables did not show a meaningful relationship with social happiness. In general, through reinforcing organizational commitment in police, we can witness social happiness, and this can be more effective in conduction of missions in this organization and in having better interactions with people.
