The effectiveness of methods of border control in prevention of entering drugs (Case Study, the borderline areas of South Khorasan Province )

In issue of drug prevention in borders, the borderline areas of South Khorasan Province have special importance due to strategic features, adjacency with Afganistan (460 Kilometers mutual border), abundance of drug cultivation in Afghanistan and potential capabilities of drug transferring from this country, the presence of Afghan immigrants in this provicnce, and non control of borders by above mentioned government and presence of enemies and anti-Iranian groups there. Above factors show the necessity of border control in prevention of harm and fighting against every kind of insecurity and danger prevention. Due to this, different tactics, strategies and tools and facilities were used to get a better result.
Research

Research Method is survey in this study and it includes all commanders of border units of South Khorasan Province. The tool of info gathering was questionnaire whose validity was assessed based on the ideas of supervising masters and experts and its reliability was assessed by Cronbach’s alpha test in a sample rather than statistical society. Descriptive analyses (like T-test and Pearson correlation coefficient) using SPSS were done to review the effectiveness rate of border control factors in drug prevention.
Research

The effectiveness rate of effective factors were analyzed regarding the border control including new technology, informational actions, physical obstacles, human factors on drug prevention and border security of borderline areas of South Khorasan Province and finally every one of them was prioritized.

Results show that border control factor of new technology has great effects on increasing the border security and it successfully prevents drug entering with a rate of more than 80 %.
