Middle East Developments and its impact on the implementation of the White Revolution and the bloody suppression of the khordad 15 uprising

With the onset of the Cold War, US foreign policy's main priority was to block Soviet influence. However, geopolitical developments in the Middle East since the mid-1950s have led to nationalist movements (Pan-Arabism), instability, and the spread of Soviet influence in the region. In this article, we seek to answer the question of what effect did these developments have on the formation of the White Revolution plans and ultimately the bloody suppression of the khordad 15 uprising? Our hypothesis is that these developments created the "shatter belt Middle East". The "shatter belt" is a region where governments are deeply divided and intensified by the competition of large governments, resulting in the instability and fragility of governments. At this time, the US concern over the unrest in Iran and the survival of the Pahlavi regime prompted a top-down or controlled revolutionary reform program launched in Iran called the "White Revolution". When the plans of the White Revolution were met with clergy and people's reaction, the unrest and instability in Iran was expected to eventually lead to the collapse of the Pahlavi regime and, to the Americans, to expand Soviet influence, the US-backed Shah's regime suppressed a bloody khordad 15 uprising.
