The Role of Commanders’ and Managers' Communication Skills in Promoting Social Capital
Just as communication is vital to human beings; it is vital to the formation and survival of the organization. Commanders and managers are responsible for establishing these connections in the police. On the other hand, social capital is created and maintained in communication networks and promotes values such as solidarity, unity and public participation. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explain the role of communication skills in promoting social capital in the anti-narcotics police.
This is an applied research and in terms of quantitative methods of data collection, it is descriptive-analytical which was conducted by survey method. In this study, the standard questionnaires of Barton (1990) communication skills and Nahapit and Goshal (1998) social capital questionnaires were used. The statistical population of this study included all management levels of the Anti-Narcotics Police throughout the country, of which 152 people were selected as a statistical sample by stratified random sampling.
The relationship between managers' communication skills and social capital of the organization is significant and also the findings obtained from the structural equation model indicate that the model presented in this study, apart from the confirmed relationships, also has a suitable structural model and verbal skills on capital. It has a structural effect and feedback skills have a significant effect on capitalism and communication capital.
The results of this study show that in general, by improving the level of feedback skills, the amount of communication, structural and cognitive assets in police managers can be increased. As a result, the social capital of managers should be at a higher level. Therefore, it can be concluded that increasing the communication skills of anti-narcotics police managers is effective in the social capital of managers.
