The Role of Critical Thinking in Emotion Regulation (Case Study: Students of Amin Police University)
Emotion regulation is a central component in organizing adaptive behavior and preventing negative emotions and maladaptive behaviors. The aim of this study was the role of critical thinking on emotional regulation of students of Amin Police University.
The present study was applied in terms of purpose and structural equations in terms of survey method. The statistical population included associate students. The sample size of 210 people with Cochran's formula was selected by simple random sampling method and answered the questions of Ricketts critical thinking and Gross and John emotion regulation. Data analysis was performed in SPSS and AMOS software.
According to research findings, critical thinking had a positive and significant effect on emotion regulation as well as creativity, maturity, and commitment on emotion regulation. Mean critical thinking 3.155 and emotion regulation 4.722 and adequacy test (0.926) and Bartlett (p <0.05), all factor loads of the model have values above 0.3 and significant numbers related to the coefficients of larger hypotheses from 1.96 which showed meaningfulness. The reliability of the questionnaire was calculated by Cronbach's alpha and all factors were higher than 0.7 and the validity was confirmed by experts. Discussion and
Critical thinking can help students in correct behaviors, ability to communicate with others, emotion management, control anger and anxiety, and thus protect themselves from social and personal harm, and in cognitive regulation strategies such as psychological empowerment and emotion, quality of life, dignity. Self,mental health,physical health, self-assessment, self-regulation, creativity, etc. to be effective.
