Career Counseling Guarantees the Effectiveness of Vocational Training in Sustainable Employment
This article explains the importance and necessity of the issue and pathology of the current situation of skill learning and employment in our country due to lack of adequate career counseling. Moreover, it presents practical and suitable strategies for development of this important factor in technical and vocational training centers all over our country. In order to lighten the minds of the esteemed audience, in addition to stating the history of career counseling in Iran (the history dates back to Archaemenian period) and in the world, it outlines some of career counseling theories including Holland's typology theory which because of simplicity and understandability is most commonly used in career counseling occupational psychology and career interest assessment in the past thirty years and it is well-matched with Iranian culture. Afterwards it studies the efficient patterns and models of this field including Trait-Factor theory, Person-Environment-Fit theory, Cognitive-Information Processing model and Multi-cultural career counseling for different Racial/Ethnical groups and women. In addition to different kinds of Computer-Assistance career counseling systems, the computer assistance career guidance with emphasis on Discover, SIGI (System of Integrated Guidance & Information) SIGI Plus is presented. The ending part of the article, provides practical recommendations for implementation more complete the career counseling project in technical and vocational training organization in our country focused on national program developing career counseling.
