Abstract:
Tissue engineering is a new way of replacing degraded tissue components with biodegradable polymers, which is provided as a three-dimensional scaffold for stem cell growth and proliferation. In the present study, effect of chitosan scaffold and the hyaluronic acid (HA) effects on wound healing in rats was used to evaluate. For this purpose, ?? rats weighing ??? to ??? g were prepared and divided into three groups of twenty. After surgical preparation, the skin of each animal's in spinal cord region completely thickeness with a diameter of ? mm by skin punch was removed. The Group ? was considered as negative control, the group two chitosan and in the group three, chitosan with hyaluronic acid was used. Then, at ?, ?, ? and ?? days after surgery, the lesions were examined macroscopically. Then, for histopathological evaluation, tissue sections were prepared from the lesion sites and the healing process was evaluated. The results showed that the wound area in the chitosan + HA group was significantly less than the control group on the third and ninth day after wound healing. The wound area on the ??th day was significantly lower in the chitosan and chitosan + HA groups than the control group. Histologic results of wound healing in terms of collagen formation, inflammation, vascularization, granulation tissue and epithelial remodeling showed improvement in healing process in chitosan and chitosan groups with hyaluronic acid compared to control group. The chitosan + HA group was better than the chitosan group. In general, according to the results, chitosan scaffold with hyaluronic acid can accelerate wound healing, epithelialization, increase angiogenesis and collagen formation and reduce inflammation. And can be referred to as biological dressing. Keywords: Chitosan, Hyaluronic Acid, Wound Healing, Rat
