Assessing the Environmental Quality of Farokhi Street in Yazd city From the Mixed Use Development Perspective
Environmental quality is a multidimensional concept and indicates the social, cultural and physical conditions of the urban environment and indicates the degree of satisfaction or dissatisfaction of citizens with the urban environment. mixed use development as a form of urban development and a new approach in land uses layout and spatial relevance and its the main affects are: creating diversity and promotion of environmental quality. The diversity of land use in Farokhi Street in Yazd is as ribbon mixed use development. Therefore, the present study seeks to assess the environmental quality created by development in the form of mixed use in Farrokhi Street in Yazd and seeks to improve its environmental quality and increase the satisfaction of space users. For this purpose, a questionnaire was used to collect data and one-sample t-test, beta regression coefficient and path analysis techniques were used to analyze the data. The results show that users are highly satisfied with the variables of compatibility, land use diversity, social justice, safety and security and vitality. And development as a mixed land use in Farrokhi Street of Yazd has been able to create an attractive urban environment with high quality. Also, the variables of access, safety and security and land use diversity have played the highest share and the criterions of compactness and dispersion of texture have the lowest share in environmental street quality. In general, the Intervention priorities to increase the environmental quality of the street are in morphological, as perceptional, functional and social dimensions
