Abstract:
In recent years, the issue of regulating new technologies has become one of the major policy challenges in any country. cryptocurrency mining activity is one of the areas that have recently been considered by the relevant institutions in our country. In this article, after presenting the opportunities of this industry for the Iranian economy, using game theory approach and collecting the opinions of 58 experts and activists of cryptocurrencies in the form of a questionnaire, we analyze the governance and policy making model in this field and make suggestions to policy makers. It seems that the design of the government mechanism for regulating the mining industry will not lead to an optimal equilibrium in the country that the government and its activists will not benefit from, so the government can modify its policies to allow the country to achieve an optimal equilibrium. Finally, in the process of regulating new technologies in the country's economy, it is suggested that the views of various stakeholders be considered by policymakers.
