Recognition and analysis of the periodic process of construction of Imam Mosque in Boroujerd
Imam Mosque is classified as a four-porch mosque in terms of type, design, and plan. This mosque has been introduced as a Qajar building, some have considered its initial model as Imam Mosque of Tehran and Mosque of the Prophet (PBUH) in Qazvin. This building is a kind of mosque / combined school that the function of part of the architectural spaces of the mosque has been educational and despite having special historical, architectural, stylistic features, but so far, sufficient studies of the history and pattern of construction, its features, and architectural changes have not been presented. The purpose of writing this article is to study the periodic process of construction and development of the mosque, based on the analysis of the structure and architectural evidence and its inscriptions. And answer these questions. In what period was the mosque founded? Was it made by Hesam Al-Saltanah, the Qajar ruler of Boroujerd, as mentioned in historical texts? Which mosque was its original model? The present research has dealt with the subject from the perspective of architectural history in a research monograph method and has used the descriptive-comparative-analytical method; In this regard, after reviewing the building, written sources related to the subject have been studied and compared with similar cases. The results of this research show that based on the structure and characteristics of architecture and its inscriptions, this building was founded before the Qajar period and was restored and developed during the Qajar period.
