Dual oppositions in Qajar Mahdavi Poetry (Based on Tazkareh ye Anjoman Quds)
The expectance poetry is a subcategory of ritual and holy poetry, and includes such subjects as the promised expectation, absence, emergence and the universal government of Mahdi. A variety of dual oppositions can be considered as a stylistic feature in the expectance poetry. Dual oppositions is the most important structuralism approach and a key term in the linguistic system, which plays a fundamental role in understanding the meaning and system of human thinking and dominant idea on the texts. The present paper examines the dual oppositions in the poetry of twenty poets of the Qajar period. Examining the poetry of the studied poets showed that opposition as a feature is traceable in the poetry of the poets. Studying the poets, 685 oppositions were founded, in which 46.7% (320) were lexical, 15.03% (103) were semantically, and 38.2% (262) were literary oppositions. The most important reasons for the attention of the poets concerned to the dual oppositions are: the poet's unconscious mind, attention to religious and ethical issues, the influence of the poet's social environment, and the poet's attention to aesthetic issues.
