The modeling structural prediction of online games addiction based on HEXACO personality and parent-child relationships with role mediator impulsivity
The purpose of this study was to modeling structural modeling structural prediction of online games addiction based on HEXACO personality and parent-child relationships with role mediator impulsivity. The descriptive- correlation method was used. The statistical population consists of all statistical population of the present study was female students of high school in Tehran city in year academic 1399-1400 to 125110 people. In this study, according to convenience sampling method (online method), 400 female students by formula Kline (2016) were selected as samples and they were asked to online game addiction inventory (OGAI) of Whang and Chang (2002), 24-item brief HEXACO inventory (24-BHI) of De Vries (2013), parent-child relationship inventory (PCRI) of Fine and et al (1983) and Barratt impulsivity scale (BIS) of Patton and et al (1995). Then the proposed model was analyzed through structural equation modeling using SPSS and AMOS-24 software. The results showed that direct paths HEXACO personality (neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience and agreeableness), mother-child relationships and impulsivity on online games addiction were significant. Also, direct paths conscientiousness and father-child relationships on online games addiction were not significant. The indirect HEXACO personality and parent-child relationships with online games addiction through mediating role impulsivity were significant. The structural model of research was fit and satisfactory with research data and is an important step in identifying the factors that are effective in online games addiction in students.
