Spatial Syntax Analysis of Gardens Registered in the World Heritage List - Case Studies: Iran, China and France
Although different human civilizations have different characteristics that are influenced by geography, cultural, social, climatic and identity differences, but since they belong to the global community, they have points both in terms of commonalities and differences. According to our definition of cultural heritage, one of the types of places are gardens. Gardens are a human experience that encompass the relationship between life, nature and the world of spirits. This study seeks to compare the two Iranian gardens recorded as world heritage with two gardens of the same period from China and France. In fact, the purpose of this study is to compare examples of three gardening styles with each other in order to identify the differences among gardens of these styles. The selected gardens each have very different design structures, which by analytical method and using space syntax software (Depth map) Finn, Eram, Versailles and Yu, gardens were investigated and compared in terms of components such as connectivity, visual integrity, entropy and spatial depth. Studying the structures of these gardens, their similarities and differences were achieved.
