Cyber bullying is an emerging social issue that has attracted the attention of scientists. The aim of this study was to model the structural relationships of cyber bullying based on anger rumination and emotion regulation strategies mediated by parental supervision in adolescent students.
The method of the present study is descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of the present study was all male students of the first and second year of high school in Ardabil in 2021. A sample of 180 people was selected from this population by available sampling method and answered the questionnaires of cyber bullying Lopes (1997), anger rumination Sukhodolsky & et al (2001), emotion regulation Gross& et al (2003) and parental supervision Small& et al (1993). The obtained data were analyzed using structural equation modeling using smart pls3 software.
The results showed that emotion regulation and parental supervision have a direct and significant effect on cyber bullying. Also, the indirect effect of emotion regulation and parental supervision was mediated by anger rumination.
According to the results of the present study, designing effective psychological interventions to prevent and reduce cyber bullying in adolescents with the content of teaching different strategies for emotion regulation and anger management by psychologists, school counselors and in cooperation with law enforcement counseling centers is recommended.
